Standing in the church, during a moment of silence at the funeral of my husband’s uncle, I could not have been more embarrassed.
Because that is the moment that we all heard the…
Buzz, buzz, buzz
Buzz, buzz, buzz
… from my cell phone.
Buzz, buzz, buzz
Buzz, buzz, buzz
It didn’t stop either.
1 missed call.
3 missed calls.
5 missed calls.
It kept going.
On the other end of that phone was my assistant principal.
Who I had left in charge to manage things while I was supporting my family.
What I didn’t do, though…
… was build her up enough to be able to handle the two boys who shoved each other during
class (or their angry parents).
I was only a few years into my principalship and already, I was thinking,
This isn’t sustainable. If I can’t even take a single day off to be with my husband who’s grieving a huge loss… I’m not going to make it in this job.
It turns out I’m not the only one.
Only 30% of principals make it to the 5-year mark (either changing schools or leaving admin altogether). And only 50% make it to 3 years.
The rest?
They quit.
Because the job is demanding…
You are dealing with the emotions, needs, and concerns of other people’s families…
While leaving you very little time to be there for your own.
In fact, I see at least one post a day on Facebook from a principal saying…
“I just can’t do this job anymore. It’s thankless and there’s no one here to help us. No one prepared me for this. I’m done.”
And I once felt this too…
I was just a few months into my first middle school principal job.
It was progress report time.
I asked our registrar to print me out the failure list.
When she came in with a stack of papers four inches high and said…
“These are all the kids who are failing at least one class.”
(We’re talking about hundreds of kids.)
I knew something had to change.
After all, this was a middle school in a highly involved community.
With high passing rates for our state standardized testings.
Students here were learning...but failing their classes?
As I took a closer look, I realized our grading practices hadn’t yet caught up with current research.
And the teaching staff was BOUGHT IN to the traditional (and often punitive) ways of grading.
As veteran teachers who had been doing this work for a LONG time, they had an “old school” approach.
One that didn’t match what the current research around learning and grading practices recommends.
But the idea of little ol’ me… fresh on the job… going up to these people who’d been in their positions for decades… and telling them they needed to change…
It made me want to give up right then and there.
So I really feel for the principals posting on Facebook every day about their struggles.
I mean…
I knew it wasn’t the smart (or right) move to disrespect the work of veteran teachers and have them all quit on me. What would I do with all the kids then?
But I also couldn’t accept THAT many kids failing - it was obvious we were measuring student compliance instead of actually learning… and this had to change.
Luckily, after years of trial and error and figuring it out the hard way,
I discovered that there’s a different way you can do this job.
A way that has teachers on your side (and more importantly...you on theirs).
That gives students what they need to succeed.
Which makes your campus (and district) look good.
AND lets you get home for dinner every night.
Plus, get a full night’s sleep (instead of stressing over that email).
With NO work spilling into the weekend!
So you can have a FULL life - AND a purposeful one too.
Because the stuff they teach you in your master’s program or even that certification program that had BIG promises…
… it does NOT create results like this.
But, luckily, my Purposeful Principal Method does!
In fact, when I started to use this method I was able to…
Identify the most important, strategic priorities and reduce our workload to only those few things.
Which meant we were no longer juggling too many initiatives.
Because all those spinning plates just overwhelmed my teachers and stopped us from truly improving classrooms.
Making these shifts had me working less, stressing less, but creating BETTER outcomes for our students!
Which is why, after 30 years in public school education - 17 of those as a school leader - I decided to come out of retirement to help other principals understand & implement the Purposeful Principal Method too!
I want to see FEWER “I’m done; I quit” messages from principals across the globe.
I even became a Certified Executive Coach so that I could - in combination with my decades of principal experience - really help other principals.
Working with principals 1-on-1, I was able to help them finally do the good work they wanted to do when they took on their role in the first place.
Helping them to stay in their positions longer.
And giving them the space to make a real impact without burning out and quitting too soon.
Now, I’m on a mission!
To get these systems, tools, and processes to as many principals as possible.
Which is why I created the Purposeful Principal Club.
So you can finally lead the way you always meant to AND still go home at the end of the day to a fun and full life - without checking email again ’til morning!
And when you join now, you have the opportunity to join as a Founding Member - locking in the special discounted pricing.
You could potentially even join for FREE if you use your PD budget…
AND you’ll be knocking out your CPE hours without even leaving campus.
But ONLY if you join soon. (By 11:59 pm [CST] on May 1, 2026.)
Then the doors are closing and the price is going up!
So, keep reading to see what’s included, how it works, and why I know you’ll love it inside.
See you in there,
Jodie

DON’T JUST TAKE IT FROM ME!
Here are a few of my success stories…
“Returning to the principalship after several years in a district role was both exciting and challenging, and Jodie has been an incredible support during that transition. She helped me strengthen our PLC systems, focus my time where it matters most, and put structures in place that support both teacher growth and student learning. Having her as a thought partner this year has made a real difference in my leadership.”
Amanda Prehn, Principal - Lake Travis Elementary, Austin, TX

“I first connected with Jodie at TASSP in 2024, and since then she has become an invaluable resource for both me and my administrative team. She helped me organize my thinking around the cultural and instructional shifts we wanted to make on our campus. Our time together was collaborative, energizing, and full of strategies we could put into practice right away.”
Monica Speaks, Princpal - Clear Brook HS, Houston, TX

“Jodie helped me sharpen my focus as an instructional leader and bring greater direction to our campus work. Together we developed systems for walkthroughs, feedback, and instructional improvement that are already influencing teaching practices across our school. Her coaching is thoughtful, strategic, and grounded in the real challenges principals face.”
Matt Stewart, Principal - Sunnymead MS, Moreno Valley, CA

“Even after more than a decade as a principal, Jodie challenged my thinking in the best possible way. Her work with our leadership team helped us step back, refine our systems, and reconnect our efforts to what matters most - improving teaching and learning. The strategies she shared were practical and immediately usable.”
Angela Frankhouser, Principal - Dripping Springs MS, Texas Hill Country

If You Can Relate to ANY of These Statements…
I Made the Purposeful Principal Club Specifically to Help You Lead with Purpose, Change Outcomes for Kids, & Still Have a Life Outside of School!
-
You became a principal because you wanted to make a real difference for kids - but most days you’re so overwhelmed with discipline issues, parent calls, and administrative demands that meaningful instructional leadership feels like a distant dream.
-
You know what good teaching looks like and you have a vision for your school - but translating that vision into what ACTUALLY happens in classrooms feels harder than it should. And if you’re honest, you’re not always sure you have the clarity, the system, or even the confidence to make it happen consistently.
-
You spend the majority of your day reacting to whatever comes through your door, and by the time the building empties out… you’re too drained to do the work that actually moves the needle on teacher growth and student outcomes.
-
You leave every workshop and put down every book feeling fired up with good ideas - and then watch yourself slowly dissolve back into the daily grind because there’s no reliable system for making any of it actually stick in your classrooms.
-
You’re responsible for your teachers’ professional growth, but planning PD that doesn’t just eat everyone’s time and produce eye-rolls in the back row feels like one of the hardest parts of the job. (Plus, nobody ever really taught you how to do it well.)
-
You’ve sat through enough inspiring keynotes and read enough leadership books to last a lifetime. BUT… what you ACTUALLY need are practical tools you can open up and use with your staff *this week*. Not more theory or inspiration.
-
You didn’t get into education to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - but that’s what the job has become. And you’re starting to wonder how much longer you can keep this up before it costs you your health, relationships, or your love for the work.
-
You’re surrounded by people all day YET are completely alone in this role. Your teachers can’t fully understand the pressure you’re under. Your district office isn’t in the trenches with you. And there’s nobody you can be completely candid with about how hard this actually is.
If ANY of Those Statements Made You Think, “Yes! That’s Me…”
I Made the Purposeful Principal Club for You
When you join, you’ll finally be able to…

If ANY of Those Statements Made You Think, “Yes! That’s Me…”
I Made the Purposeful Principal Club for You
When You Join, You’ll Finally Be Able to…
-
Feel like the leader you always meant to be when you stepped into this role. Not just an administrator putting out fires, but a principal who is genuinely and measurably changing outcomes for the kids in your building.
-
Finally feel like this job fits inside your life instead of consuming it whole. With a clear sense of what to focus on, what to let go of, and how to protect your time so you can be fully present at school AND fully present when you go home.
-
Go home at the end of the day knowing you spent your time on the work that actually moves the needle - instead of just surviving whatever came through your door.
-
Trade the isolation of being the only person in your building who does what you do for a community of principals who gets it, shares what’s working, and shows up for each other the way your district office never quite has.
-
Walk into every coaching conversation and classroom observation knowing exactly what you’re looking for and what to say afterward. So your teachers ACTUALLY grow and your kids ACTUALLY benefit.
-
Plan professional development your teachers look forward to instead of dread. (With DONE-FOR-YOU slide decks, agendas, and presenter’s guides you can simply hand to your instructional coaches! Saving you time, money, and headaches too.) Not to mention, this PD will be practical, immediately useful, and show up as new & better practices in your teachers’ classrooms the very next day.
-
Stop feeling like instructional leadership is the thing that always gets bumped. Finally have a clear, repeatable system for turning your vision for your school into what’s actually happening in classrooms every single day.

Here’s What You Get When You Join the Purposeful Principal Club Today…

Jodie Villemaire’s Step-by-Step Purposeful Principal Pathway
You didn’t become a principal to manage paperwork and run meetings.
You became a principal to change what happens for kids. And you always knew that would mean growing the teachers in your building first.
This is the curriculum nobody gave you when you got the keys to your office.
It will help you build the exact mindset, skills, and systems to lead professional learning that actually transfers to classrooms, coach your teachers in a way that builds trust and produces real growth, and create a culture of collective learning that sustains itself…
… without adding another initiative, and without working any harder than you already are.
In fact, you’ll ACTUALLY start to work less!
No more 1,000 spinning plates or competing priorities. With this step-by-step method, you’ll know exactly what to focus on first, second, and next!
How It Works
-
Step 1: Clarify what actually improves teaching and learning - Learn how to identify the instructional practices that matter most… and build a clear, repeatable focus your team can use across PLCs, walkthroughs, and planning.
-
Step 2: Build teacher buy-in - Use the leadership practices that get even resistant teachers genuinely excited to try something new.
-
Step 3: Become the leader they need - so your teachers actually WANT feedback from you as they implement your new plan, and your job can start feeling like the one you signed up for.
-
Step 4: Create a culture of teacher growth & learning - so your school keeps getting better and better without your direct involvement every single day.
-
Step 5: Reclaim your time - THIS is my answer to the question I know you’re thinking… “How do I actually find the TIME to be an instructional leader?” (Including the exact strategies for reclaiming your nights + weekends, and finally feeling like you have a real & fun life outside of school.)

Every Other Week Q+A Calls with Me (Jodie)
These calls will NOT be another sit-and-listen professional development session where you furiously take notes and then wonder what to actually do with any of it on Monday morning.
Instead, bring your real questions, your current challenges, and the specific situations you’re navigating right now.
You’ll walk away with clear, practical next steps that move you closer to becoming the principal your teachers and students need you to be.
You’ll keep making real, visible progress in your building each and every month.
Until the gap between your vision for your school and what’s actually happening in the building isn’t a gap anymore.
So whether you’re stuck on how to coach a struggling teacher, trying to figure out how to get buy-in for a new initiative, or just need someone to help you think through your next move — bring it to the call and we’ll work through it together. You’re no longer alone in this!

The Resource Library
ON TOP OF the core curriculum, you’ll also have access to my growing library of solutions built specifically for busy principals.
EVERY WEEK I add a new tool, template, or resource to support your leadership, get you out the door sooner, and carry less stress home with you at night.
Not only that, you can make requests for what resource you want me to drop next! And when you join, you’ll also get immediate access to any previous resources that are already in the vault.
Just a few of them are:
-
A Complete 14-Part Tier 1 Instruction Series: Each session comes with everything you need to walk in and lead a full hour of high-quality staff professional development completely on your own: a done-for-you slide deck, a detailed agenda, AND a presenter’s guide. So you can finally start moving the needle on what’s actually happening in your classrooms without spending a single weekend building materials from scratch, without waiting on your district to send someone in, and without writing a check to an outside consultant who would charge you thousands of dollars to deliver exactly what’s already sitting in your resource library the moment you log in.
-
The Learning Walk Quick Start Guide: This is an all-in-one resource to design, launch, and lead effective classroom learning walks with purpose and clarity. This toolkit is packed with ready-to-use tools, schedules, and curated protocols to support observation practices that elevate instructional conversations on your campus.
-
The Campus Planning Toolkit: The strategic planning resource that would normally cost you thousands of dollars to have a consultant build for you, handed to you ready to use the moment you log in. So your campus improvement plan actually reflects where your school is going instead of collecting dust in a binder nobody opens.

The Purposeful Principal Club Can Help You
Knock Out Your CPE Hours
(Without Leaving Campus)
and Potentially Be FREE for You!
The Principal Leadership Lab costs far less than what principals are often asked to spend on professional learning that doesn’t stick.
Instead of:
-
Paying thousands for outside consultants
-
Sitting through PD with little follow-through
-
Designing everything yourself after hours
You get ongoing coaching, practical tools, and community support—for less than the cost of a single PD day.
Not ONLY will this membership help you finally close the gap between your vision for your school and what’s actually happening for kids every single day…
… but it also just might save your sanity.
Allowing you to live your nights and weekends without checking email,
stressing over how behind you are, or feeling like you might have to quit.
That’s worth a whole lot if you ask me!
Especially when you consider that a FULL YEAR inside this membership is less than ONE summer conference (like ASCD or NASSP)... not even including your flights and hotel stay.
Not to mention, if you wanted to work with me privately, it would currently cost you $1,500–$2,000 PER DAY. Making the Purposeful Principal Club the most AFFORDABLE way to access coaching from me.
But also, this qualifies as professional development!
And you’ve got a budget for that.
I created a comprehensive guide for you on how to use part of your PD budget on this program. It’s different for every district so I walk through each scenario -
and how to get this program paid for - inside an un-gate-kept downloadable PDF.

Got Questions? This Is for You…
"When will enrollment open again?"
Enrollment is expected to reopen in July, with the enrollment window closing in early August.
"Can I still get the founding member bonuses?"
No. The founding member bonus window closed with the initial launch. The next enrollment period will include a new limited-time bonus designed specifically for back-to-school leadership planning.
"Why is enrollment closed?"
The Purposeful Principal Club opens during focused enrollment windows so we can welcome new members well, support current members, and keep the community experience valuable.
"What should I do if I want to join next time?"
Join the Back-to-School Waitlist. Waitlist members will be notified first when doors reopen and when the next enrollment bonus is announced.
“But Jodie, I don’t have time for one more thing.”
I know! That’s why I built this program to SHRINK your to-do list down to what is ACTUALLY going to change your school for the better.
This is NOT “one more thing” to add to your list. This is the thing that makes everything else easier.
How is this different from just buying a book or attending a conference?
Books give you ideas.
Conferences give you inspiration.
This program gives you a ready-to-use system, a community of principals doing this work alongside you, a live coach in your corner, and a brand-new resource dropping every single week.
And you don’t even have to get on a plane (or leave campus) to experience it!
And books don't give you CPE hours...but the Purposeful Principal Club does!
Can I use my professional development budget for this?
Yes! And most members do exactly that.
In fact, I even created a free guide showing exactly HOW to use your PD budget for this program.
You can access it here.
What if my district doesn’t have a school credit card?
No problem! I cover that in my guide on how to get this membership covered with your PD budget.
You can access it here. (Or just have your admin asst. email jodie@principallead.com.)
What if I join and it’s not what I expected?
Easy! You simply cancel your membership by emailing jodie@principallead.com, which you can
do at any time and you’ll never be billed again.
I’m confident you’re going to LOVE it though!

My Final Parting Words to You…
Please Don’t Break My Heart
I told you at the start of this page that every day… without fail… I see THE MESSAGE on Facebook from yet another principal.
“That’s it. I quit. I turned in my resignation today. I can’t do it anymore.”
And then the comments flood in.
Dozens of other principals saying, “Me too. I’m right behind you!”
Every time I see it, my heart breaks a little.
Because I’ve spent 30 years in public schools watching this play out in real time.
When principals are given what they need to actually do their job well…
GREAT teachers stay too.
Which means more students who love to learn.
Who build skills.
Who build confidence.
Who go on to have healthy habits around work and play that stick with them for decades.
This country - and our kids - NEED you.
And I know that in order to keep you…
You need more resources, support, guidance, and balance in your life.
This club is where you can get ALL of those things.
Most principals don’t leave because they stopped caring.
They leave because nobody ever taught them how to do this job well - and do it sustainably too.
That changes now.
I don’t want to see your “I’m done” message on Facebook until you have a beautiful, satisfactory, and celebrated retirement.
Which is why for less than a single DoorDash order a month (or potentially even free if you use your PD budget)...
You get the tools, the coaching, the community, and the system to finally do this job the way you always meant to.
Without it costing you your health, your family, or your love for the work.
I created the Purposeful Principal Club specifically so you could do just that.
I cannot wait to meet you inside,
Jodie
